Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness”
Alright this is one that I have been excited for for a long time. It isn't because I'm such a marvel nerd or that I’m a shill for Marvel and Disney its because I'm a HUGE Sam Rami fan and have been since day one of watching army of darkness. People who are expecting all the Multiverse craziness that was in Marvel comics are going to be a bit disappointed but still happy. If you are going to be coming into this movie without doing your Marvel homework you also will be missing a lot. This movie is good without the homework but is WAY better if you have watched WandaVision and Spider-man: No Way Home.
This movie is a ride full of Sam Rami touches if you know what to look for like the famous 72 Cutlass he puts in all of his movies. But what it comes down to is heartache and choices. We are driven by Wanda and her purpose to go to a universe where she can be with her children again that she conjured up in WandaVision and the Choices of Doctor Strange to protect our new character a Multiverse traveling young woman named America Chavez from Wanda and her mind that has been corrupted by the dark-hold. So off on an adventure we go and I mean it goes right from the start. Is this the perfect Marvel movie? No not even close but it is a good one. I was expecting a crazy wild ride through the multiverse with mind bending cameos and insanity. We get a bit of that but not as much as you’d expect given the movies title. However it is so much fun.
When you see this movie whether you've done your homework or not it should do what its meant to do which is entertain and take you on a ride. That is all you should ever expect. The cameos are both fun but brief and there are certain touches that Sam Rami and Danny Elfman have put into this movie which are incredible the musical note fighting scene is amazing and something I’ve never seen before in a movie. So if you are a huge marvel nerd and haven’t seen this movie yet what are you waiting for? Its summer movie season once again so get out there go to your local theater(or 21 Drive-In) and come watch this super fun movie. 4 out of 5 Yellow Suckers.
